Class Experience

Have you ever watched a Game Show and wished you could be on it? Here at the Game Show Club, we recreate game shows and classic board game favorites starring "you" as one of our favorite contestants!

We will play a variety of games that include all the bells and whistles you expect from a game show experience! Whether we're playing on teams or as individuals you are sure to have fun while developing team-building techniques, enhancing your listening skills, cooperating and communicating with others, and showing good sportsmanship.

We will begin by getting to know each other and learning the rules of the game. Students will play in teams or independently, depending on the game or the total number of students enrolled. Students will feel supported and encouraged to do their very best, and "respect for all students" will be reinforced throughout the class. I hope to see you in the game room!

Some of the games you can expect to play are:

The Challenge, a Jeopardy Parody:
*General knowledge answers will be given.
*Students must give the answer in the form of a question.
Sample: What do caterpillars turn into? Answer: What are butterflies?
FYI-Questions will be general knowledge and kids' stuff (like video games and more).

Scattergories:
*Score points by naming objects within a set of categories.
Sample: Letter M
School Subject- Music
Animal- Monkey
Disney Character- Mickey Mouse

Word Play, Wheel of Fortune Parody:
*Students will spin the virtual wheel.
*Call a consonant, buy a vowel, or solve the puzzle.
*Students can continue spinning the wheel until they miss a letter or spin a Bankrupt or Lose a Turn.
FYI-Puzzles will be age appropriate.

Pictionary:
*Draw & guess.
*A clue is given using the private chat feature in Zoom.
*Using the annotation tool to draw, team members will guess the picture.
FYI-Chromebooks may not be able to use the zoom annotation tool; please have handy drawing paper, pens, or pencils.

Fabulous Face-Off, Family Feud Parody:
*Answer quirky questions,
*Points are placed in the scoreboard section, with the number one answer and its points placed at one, the number two answer and its points placed at two, and so on.
*The points are totaled at the end of each survey question.
FYI-We will use surveys based on what kids enjoy doing.

Say it loud! Say it proud! BINGO!
*Students will have a unique Bingo card.
*A letter and number will be called and shown.
*Students will find that particular letter/number and place pennies, cereal, marbles, etc.
*A predetermined pattern is made on a card, and the student(s) with that card calls out BINGO!

Helpful Information:
1. Please keep in mind, if this class has low enrollment, meaning less than (2) students in a class, the class will be canceled and/or rescheduled until the class meets the minimum number of students. Class times are approximate. Depending on the student's ability and the number of enrolled learners, the game session may be slightly longer or shorter.

"It's not just about creativity. It's about the person you're becoming while creating." This quote epitomizes my teaching philosophy concisely. My mission is to raise my students’ artistic confidence, grow their skills, and teach them to enjoy the art-making process while building integrity and good character.

I started performing on stage at the age of four years old. I began formal private lessons in voice and acting at the age of 10 at The Newark School of the Arts and at The Children’s Theater Workshop. As a young teen, I also began directing and leading the youth and adult choirs in church. As a result of my commitment to my craft, I had numerous opportunities to perform and record as an accomplished artist throughout the United States and abroad.

The overall goal of my teaching philosophy is to cultivate independent and critically thinking artists. I want to produce well-rounded individuals, instill a lifelong love of music and theater in every student, and create an effective performance medium in which students will grow not only musically, but also personally and professionally. Through these principles, I strive to become a key mentor in their educational journey.

As an international performer, my credits include touring throughout the country of China as a lead singer for the state of the arts Thai City Theater. Other recent credits include working as a lead production singer for the renowned cruise line, Carnival; sailing the Western and Eastern Caribbean islands performing Las Vegas-style production shows.

I am currently the CEO of my own entertainment company and a mobile music school. I perform regularly for various commercial establishments and private venues. I studied Music and Theater earning a BA degree along with a teaching license in arts education.
