The teacher will check for understanding in a variety of different ways throughout the class time. This will include thumbs-up, hand raise, and a vocal response from the student.Class Experience
Come join Mrs. Hansen in The Friend Zone! In this ongoing class learners will engage in conversations, play games, and participate in show and tell with similar aged peers, all while, developing social skills and having fun! Class will start with a personalized greeting for every learner. We will play an ice breaker game and use this as a fun get to know each other warm-up at the beginning of class each week. The class will transition into show and tell where learners will have the opportunity to share a special toy, drawing, or book with friends. We will always save a few minutes for a fun movement activity to music or movement game half way through each class. Learners will next play "Conversations-Go-Around" and take turns answering question cards ("pass" is always an option). This game is a great way to prompt learners to consider multiple aspects of conversational turn taking. This game will develop skills including staying on topic, making eye contact, asking questions, adding to the conversation, and giving a compliment! Learners may pop in or out at anytime. I look forward to seeing your little learner in my new weekly social class!

Parental Guidance
Parents can assist with gathering materials before class if needed. Also, since this class is intended for young learners, it is recommended that the parent sits nearby and/or teach your child to push the UNMUTE/MUTE button. This will cut down on any unwanted background noise and allow the class to run as smooth as possible!
Safety during Movement Break: Students will need space to jump! Please be aware of potential hazards (including, but not limited to, needing an open workout space, proper footwear, a water bottle if needed, and adequate stretching beforehand) as well as injuries that can occur if not properly supervised. The movement break can always be modified to staying in the chair and seated if necessary.
Supply List
Optional item for the show and tell portion of the class.
