Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
My name is Julie Walker and I can’t wait to meet your learner! I live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my husband and 3 year old daughter. We also have two dogs, a Siberian Husky and a chocolate Labrador Retriever.
MY EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TEACHING STYLE:
I received my Early Childhood Education degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina which is the teaching college of S.C. I also have my Master's in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. For the last 7 years I have taught young learners in the preschool setting, mainly teaching students ages 3-6 years in all core curricular subjects. I have also taught 1st grade for one year in the public school system.
My teaching style is very hands-on, engaging and activity centered. I know young learners need to be busy and moving and my lessons reflect just that! The last 7 years I have been teaching at a STEM accredited preschool, so I will be teaching a lot of science and math lessons.
As a mom and educator, I know life can get busy. If you see a class but it is not offered at a time that works for you- please feel free to reach out to me! I look forward to meeting your learner in the virtual classroom!
