Beginner - Advanced Level
The Cooking & Baking Club for Jr Chefs ~ In this weekly cooking and baking class students will learn to make some easy but delicious meals, snacks, desserts and drinks. Students should be familiar in the kitchen with appliances (oven/stove settings, blender/mixer settings, etc). We will discuss proper food handling and safety precautions. This class is a LIVE cooking class and the teacher makes the recipes with the learners to show technique and proper instruction. One recipe will be posted each week on the classroom page and the ingredients for the recipe will be posted at 2 weeks in advance or upon enrollment. Students will need to shop for supplies ahead of class time. Example of the menu to Include but not in any order - Desserts, Breads, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner foods as well as quick snacks. Week of Sept. 8th - Baked Ziti Week of Sept. 15th - Turkey or Ham Pinwheels Week of Sept. 22nd - Vanilla Cupcakes Week of Sept. 29th- Macaroni and Cheese **This class is scheduled for 60 minutes to allow enough time for every learner to complete each recipe without feeling rushed. At times, class may be shorter than 60 minutes depending on each learner's cooking speed and skill set. **Learners need to check in on camera per the Outschool policy however, they are allowed to have their cameras off after initial check in. At times, learners may need to turn their cameras on to show their food items or to show proper kitchen prep and safety techniques. Other Details
Parental Guidance
Students will be using a blender/mixer, the oven/stove top and a cutting board/sharp knife for all classes. Supervision is always suggested when kids are working in the kitchen preparing foods. If you feel your child needs additional help, some meal prep can be done before class. Please let me know ahead of time if you have any questions or concerns.
Food allergies - we will be using nuts and dairy products in some of our recipes. Should you need to use a food substitute, please let me know and I can modify the recipe for you.
