Beginning our class with introductions and an affirmation to set the tone for our learning environment. We then will move onto introducing our learning objectives and key points of the lesson. In this class we will focus on the life and history of King Tutankhamen- King Tut, and the discovery of his tomb. Through a guided discussion we will explore a variety of topics like; mummification, Egyptian culture and beliefs, as well as what it means to be a Pharaoh. In our discussion learners will have the opportunity to not only gain new knowledge on ancient Egypt but also share their thoughts and opinions around the subject. To recap all that has been learned, a variety of worksheets that highlight vocabulary and summarizing the material are provided for learners.
Learning Goals
Gain basic knowledge and understanding of who King Tutankhamun - King Tut was and the archeological impacts the discovery of his tomb held
Introduction into Ancient Egyptian power dynamics/structures , culture, morals, values, and royal life
Learn and define vocabulary relevant to Egypt and & Ancient Egyptian history

This class does discuss brief topics of death, child death, burials, mummifications, child marriage, inter-family marriage, and war.

I hold 2 degrees. One in Africana/Black Studies and one in Social Sciences. I am currently enrolled in a masters program for African Studies with a minor in Education. I also homeschool my own children and create all of their history/social studies content.
