Class Experience

This 4-lesson program will guide children as they explore, learn, draw, paint, and create artwork inspired by science and nature. Children will make amazing discoveries while learning about seasons, weather, birds, bugs, trees, plants, and flowers!

Each lesson will be facilitated by a professional artist, illustrator, and educator, who will inspire and guide learners to create their own original works of art. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, play, get creative, and socialize with other children.

We can't wait to welcome you to our virtual arts & science studio where learners from all over the world participate in cool activities, connect with others, and have loads of fun!

Week 1 - Magic Blossoming Flowers
Do you know the science behind how flowers bloom in the spring?
In this interdisciplinary art activity, students will get the chance to create their own paper flowers that will blossom when placed in a bowl of water - as if by magic! A beautiful blend of biology and art that will get kids thinking and experimenting with absorption, osmosis, and other wonders of the natural world.

Week 2 - Insect Symmetry
Explore the basics of insect anatomy through art! Using simple drawing and painting supplies, students will be guided on how to create a perfectly symmetrical drawing of a critter of their choosing.

Week 3 - Animal Tracks
In this interactive class, students will create a drawing of a forest landscape populated with their favourite woodland creatures. Students will then print miniature animal tracks through their landscape while discussing what tracks can tell us about an animal's behaviour.

Week 4 - Fizzing Volcano Painting
This cool twist on the classic vinegar & baking soda science experiment allows learners to create a painting of a volcano that will actually fizzle and bubble! Children will mix paint with a bit of water and baking soda, and then create a painting of an exploding volcano. When they spray or pour vinegar onto their artwork, the paint will fizz!
