Welcome artists! In this ongoing class, we'll create art each week on a different topic, giving learners the chance to express themselves and share their world through art. 🎨 We'll begin class with a warm welcome and introducing the topic of the week. Learners are invited to share and brainstorm together about what they might want to create. 🎨 As they're working on their pieces, learners are encouraged to ask both myself and each other for feedback and help. This is meant to be a collaborative atmosphere and I love when learners can help each other problem-solve! 🎨 I'll provide lots of support and encouragement throughout the class. I believe there's an artist in everyone and I really encourage learners to make their art their own. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to create art! 🎨 Finally, learners will have the opportunity to share their finished art with the class (no pressure to share if that's not comfortable though!). Learners can choose to use whichever medium they'd like- crayons, markers, paints, construction paper, etc. Below, you'll find a list of the topics planned for each week. There are 16 weeks of topics and then the topics will repeat. Learners are welcome to stay and repeat topics! Topics: Week of January 15-19: My superpower Week of January 22-26: My favorite thing to do outside Week of January 29-February 2: My favorite game Week of February 5-9: My favorite color Week of February 12-16: My favorite food Week of February 19-23: My pets (or what pet I'd like to have) Week of February 26: March 1-My home Week of March 4-8: My favorite season **No class the week of March 11-15** Week of March 18-22: When I grow up... Week of March 25-29: My favorite toy Week of April 1-5: Self-portrait Week of April 8-12: My favorite vacation (or dream vacation) Week of April 15-19: My favorite holiday Week of April 22-26: My hobbies Week of April 29- May 3: My favorite animal Week of May 6-10: May family I am a patient and positive teacher and I truly believe that everyone can create art! I love seeing learners build their confidence and have fun creating something they're proud of. Everyone's finished product will be different and we celebrate those differences! Also, as a former shy kid myself, I am very understanding of learners who take some time to warm up and there is no pressure in my classes to talk if that isn't comfortable yet. All are welcome here!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from The University of Florida
Hello! My name is Ms. Suzanne and I love teaching arts and crafts to young artists. I believe everyone can be an artist! I love working with kids and have done so as a daycare teacher, nanny, school volunteer, and as a mom to my own three kids. I have a BA in linguistics from the University of Florida and I've been doing arts and crafts for as long as I can remember (I even ran my own Etsy shop for awhile!). When I teach arts and crafts projects to young learners, I believe in giving them lots of encouragement to try new things and make mistakes. Everyone's art will be a little different, and not only is that ok, it's amazing!
