Class Experience

We will review different styles of poetry, how poetry can be used to creatively express an idea, and how to present poetry in an engaging and meaningful way.

First we will look at poetry as a medium, then different ways to communicate poetically, and finally we will present our Among Us themed poems to each other.

The class will include a slideshow presentation of what we’re covering, and time for learners to brainstorm, collaborate and write their own poems. During this process, learners will get a chance to chat with myself and others as we explore poetic expression. We will then take turns presenting.

There are no wrong answers here. Learners will be encouraged to express authentically, and supported in a non-judgmental way. No experience or familiarity with poetry is required.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about poetry, how to write poetry, and how to perform poetry in an impactful and inspiring way.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there! :)

I am passionate about exploring the practices that create confidence and calm in body and mind, and thus contribute to authentic and joyful self-expression.

My classes cover different ways to creatively explore and express through yoga (be it breathing, stretching or meditating), writing (be it creative, technical or speech writing), and presenting, performing, public speaking, singing, dancing, puppeteering etc.

I have a multi-disciplinary degree in Communications, Psychology, Sociology, and Chemistry and am always learning more about how we can feel better in body and mind, and communicate our message. I am also a certified Yoga Instructor and have been practicing yoga and meditation for 17 years. In addition, I have been performing since I was a child and have picked up all sorts of tools along the way that I wish to share with your child so they too can freely express their creativity.

My teaching philosophy centers around helping students develop self-awareness so they can see what practices best help them feel good in body and mind, and express with authenticity and confidence. My belief is that everyone is creative, and equipped with everything they need to feel good and share their important stories, so I teach classes that inspire wellness and creative expression in a welcoming, non-judgmental environment.

In my free time I love hiking in the woods with my son, singing and exploring nature. Right now, my son is interested in horses, fixing up old cars and aviation, so we're learning all about horse care, car restoration and airplanes. Every day is a new adventure! :)
