The Art of Breathing focuses on teaching different breathing techniques in a way that is easy for student's to understand. Deep breathing helps reduce stress by slowing the heart rate and lowering blood pressure, which counters the effects of the body's stress response. By focusing on deep, slow breaths, students can interrupt cycles of anxiety and create a sense of calm and control, improving mental clarity and emotional stability. The following topics will be covered: • how to take a deep breath • how to use music to aid in calming • how to recognize when deep breaths are needed Students will be encouraged to continue practicing their deep breathing outside of class.
