In this 8 week course, students will learn the letters of the alphabet, letter sounds, how to write letters, and how to read and write VC and CVC words.

US Grade Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
The class will focus on the alphabet and early reading skills. Students will learn the sounds that letters make and how to put them together to make words. The class will start with phonemic awareness (verbally breaking words into sounds and using sounds to make words), then students will review the letters that have been taught, next the students will write the letter that have been taught, next the students will read words using the letters that have been taught (when the students get to that level), last is the new skill which will cover the new letter, new letter sounds, reading, and writing that letter.

Students will learn the sounds for all of the letters in the alphabet.Students will learn how to read and write CVC words using short vowels.

Lesson 4:
CVC (a and i) practice
Students will build CVC words using short a and short i. 30 mins online live lesson
Other Details
Learning Needs
The science of reading method that I will be following is great for students with Dyslexia. It supports their specific reading needs.
Pre-Requisites
Students can have some knowledge of the alphabet but this course is a beginner course and does not require pre- reqs.
Supply List
Students need something to write with and something to write on. I would recommend a white board so they can hold it up to the camera but a notebook will work as well.
