In this book club, learners will read the assigned section for the week before coming to the club, where discussion will be led by the instructor and prompted by discussion by the learners and informed by previous weeks. We will discuss imagery, characterization, engagement with the reader, metpahor, similie, hyperbole, tone, syntax and flow,  and other literary devices as well as personal thoughts of the novel including opinions of characters, where we think the story will go based on what we know about the characters, and what makes the book engaging or not engaging. Discussion for weeks 2-7 will also be influenced by the things we talk about in previous weeks (for instance, if someone notices the color gold keeps showing up, we may track the color gold throughout the book going forward.) We will also inform discussion with additional resources on literary devices as needed  There is an optional final asdignment. The chapter assignments are as follows:
