The 1980s Movie Appreciation Club
Class Experience
It's time for a summer film festival to relive my childhood. Yes, it's a 1980s film fest! Watch a film each week on your own or with friends and family. Then join us for a lively discussion about the movie. We will read read reviews, play trivia games, watch and discuss clips, look into the writers, directors, and actors, and learn about the 80s cultural elements that infuse each work! Here's our schedule: June 14: E.T. June 21: Ghostbusters June 28: WarGames July 5: Footloose July 12:...
All movies will be rated PG or PG-13. You are encouraged to look into the movies being discussed each week to make sure it fits with your family's understanding of "appropriate." Discussions will always be kept to a classroom appropriate level.
You will need to find and watch each week's movie on your own. They are all available for streaming on multiple platforms and probably also at your local library.
