Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner Level
I am very excited to create some amazing Fall desserts with your child!

Because this is a "selfpaced" class we do not meet in a live classroom setting. You are free to fit this class into your schedule when the time is best for you! There's lots of FLEXibility! The price of this class also reflects the lack of face-to-fact class time, but you are still going to get all of my personality and love in the class videos.

In this class, your child will make 4 delicious different desserts:

Lesson 1- Apple Crisp
You will enjoy the delightful combination of sweet, tender apples with a satisfyingly crunchy and buttery topping. It can be served for breakfast or served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Lesson 2- Banana Muffins
Banana muffins are a great breakfast, snack or dessert. Their light golden-brown crust adds a subtle crunch to contrast the soft interior.

Lesson 3- Pumpkin Pie
No fall dessert class would be complete without a pumpkin pie! You will not be able to resist the delightful smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven.

Lesson 4- Pumpkin Roll
I have saved the best for last! Pumpkin roll is a wonderful dessert to share with friends throughout the fall. The cake is soft and spongy with all of the flavors of fall; pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg and more.

Note - If you don't see a class that you are looking for, check back soon or feel free to reach out and make a class request.

Hi! My name is Lauren, but my students call me "Best Teach". I graduated from Westminster College in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I earned my Pennsylvania English as a Second Language Program Specialist K-12 certification. I moved to Shenandoah, Virginia to teach English as a Second Language in 2006. I taught over 40 students (K-12) at 4 different schools. In 2007, I moved to the traditional first grade classroom.

Since then, I have taught in many different capacities. I have taught baby sign language to parents, online for two years as an English as a Second Language teacher, and as a homeschool tutor. My most valuable teaching experience has come as a homeschool mom. I have been teaching my neurodivergent 15 year old son and neurotypical 12 year old daughter since the day they were born.

I bring a variety of classes to Outschool, because I like to pull from all of my interests and talents.
