US Grade Kindergarten - 2
In this one time class, students will follow step-by-step directions to create a paper turkey craft. During a group "brainstorming" discussion, students will write things they are thankful for on the feathers of the turkey. Next, students will color and cut out the parts of the turkey. Finally, with teacher modeling & guidance, students will put together the parts of their turkey to complete their craft. Once finished, students will be able to display their "gratitude turkey" craft as a Thanksgiving decoration in their homes. . . . *Prerequisite skills: -Ability to use scissors & glue -Some knowledge of letters of the alphabet~ teacher will assist with spelling of words through modeling (writing) them on a whiteboard
Learning Goals
Students will recognize what they are thankful for in their lives, practice writing these things, and follow step-by-step directions to complete a Thanksgiving-themed craft project.

Parental Guidance
*Prerequisite skills:
-Ability to use scissors & glue
-Some knowledge of letters of the alphabet~ teacher will assist with spelling of words through modeling (writing) them on a whiteboard
*Students should be comfortable with the expectation that all students will remain muted when the teacher is talking/when another student is talking ~ in order to minimize background noise. Please remind your student of this online classroom expectation or please be nearby to assist them during class with the mute/unmute function as needed.

-Handouts attached to the classroom page ~ to be printed prior to class -1 other sheet of construction paper OR blank white paper -Scissors -Glue -Colored pencils or crayons -1 black marker
