Class Experience

Please take at least 4 classes for your child to get acclimated to Spanish and immersion. They might be unsure the first class, but after 4 classes feel very confident with the method.

Enroll at any time. We use a theme each week and present the vocabulary at the beginning of every class.

This is for complete beginners with 1-50 hours of speaking practice. Level 1.1. Every new student should take 3 classes at this level to get an assessment. If you are higher, we will let you know.

We use The Bellieu Method (our trademarked method and curriculum) with a goal of fluency. We ask questions throughout the below activities to create conversations in class:
Singing
Games
Storybooks
Vocabulary and photos (95% in Spanish, but very clear directions
Comics
Short videos (but your child will not be watching videos like you think, we pause and interact throughout, creating conversations!)
Movement
And more

What will they learn or talk about?

In every TruFluency Kids Spanish Immersion class, we have 2-3 themes that we touch on (for example traveling, animals, hobbies, what you like to eat, etc). During the discussion of these themes, we will focus on being able to express ourselves in Spanish in regards to this theme.

While the focus is always on listening/speaking, since that is how children learn language first (and most successfully), we also incorporate writing and quick spelling exercises in classes with children 7 and up.

🎈“El niño nuevo” (The new kids) September 1 - September 28
We visit "La Buena Vida" school and meet Maestra Luz (she's always shining!). Students here are a bit different… They are special. Some kids speak backwards, other kids eat very strange meals and others can change the color of their eyes and skin. They all have their special quirks but are always nice to each other. At this school we will meet Felix, the new kid. His feet are not touching the floor, but why? What's Felix's peculiarity?

🧳“Es mío” (It’s mine) September 29 – October 26
We see two monkeys eating fruit in the middle of a jungle. Suddenly, a huge noise! Something has fallen from the sky, what is it? The monkeys find out it is some sort of box. A suitcase maybe? The monkeys open it and look at all the treasures, they say, it has. One of the monkeys grabs a mirror and says “Oh, it’s my mirror!”. The other monkey does not agree and says “Why is it your mirror?”. A discussion starts. There are more suitcases and animals throughout the jungle. Let’s see what the animals do!

⛺️“José lo sabe todo” (José knows it all) October 27 - November 23
We meet José and his friends. They are camping. The kids and their parents start setting everything up for the camp. First, the tents. José’s dad asks who knows how to build a tent. Two kids say they have no idea, but then José raises his voice and says “I know”. “Who taught you?”, Jose’s friend says. “A beaver”, José replies. A beaver!? While reading the story, we will see how José says he knows about everything. Is that the truth? Or is José trying to impress his friends? Let’s go camping and see how this fun story in the woods unfolds!

☁️“La señora Nube” (Mrs. Cloud) November 24 - December 21
Mrs. Cloud passes over a small town. She is a bit bored, because the wind is not blowing much. To have some fun, she starts playing with the wind and blows away people’s stuff and Winter clothes. People run in circles trying to catch their clothes and accessories. Later, they find out they got the wrong clothes and now everyone looks funny wearing the wrong outfits. Mrs. Cloud, in the sky, laughs and cries with laughter looking at the confused people living in this town. It starts to rain, and the weather gets colder.
