Save $15 by using code BIANC6MNKT15 4-day Summer Camp I will teach students about loving their natural hair using Power Point presentation as well as class discussions from the students. At the beginning of each class the students will introduce themselves. After introductions, the students will learn about the class topic through Power Point and various props from the teacher. I will ask questions throughout the lesson and make sure each child is fully understanding the material. Students are able to raise their hand and ask questions throughout as well. At the end, I will ask the students what they've learned to allow them to ask questions they may have or to further provide insight into what they may have found interesting. This class will cover historical information and we will dive into many other topics related to Black/African American/Textured Hair. This class is focused on textured hair, however all children are welcome to join in and get a better understanding of coily and curly hair. No prior knowledge is needed, however students should be able to sit through a Power Point discussion. Finally, although I would love to have a class filled with students, there may be times where it will be just one student. If this happens I will continue as scheduled and have a one on one discussion with the child. Day 1: Loving Textured Hair The first class the students will color a picture with textured hair and we will have a discussion together about their beauty. Students will be able to share pictures of themselves, their toys, or siblings. At the end of the class the students will learn positive affirmations as well as speaking positively about their hair and why it is so important. Day 2: The History of Black Hair Students will learn about African American hair history from the 1800s-1900s. Some of which include, Madam C.J. Walker, Garett Morgan, and many more that helped shape all of the hair and products that they see today. Day 3: The Beauty in African American Hair Styles, Weave, and Extensions In this class students will learn about the black hair styles such as updos, afros, braids, locs, sew ins and more from the 60s to present day. I will teach the lesson through Power Point and provide visuals to the students and show pictures of the different fun ways they can wear their hair. Day 4: How to care for textured hair at home In this class students will learn about caring for their hare at home.
