Terrific Transportation a Flex Class: Human Transportation Lesson With Craft

This 4 week class will explore human transportation with a lesson and craft.

Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This is a flexible schedule class. We will not meet live but this class is interactive. Teacher will post weekly assignments in the classroom. There will be a weekly video lesson of teacher narrating a lesson slide-show, a separate video where the teacher will lead step by step instructions for a corresponding craft, printable activity sheets, a Nearpod link with an interactive board and virtual field trips, and a Kahoot quiz that students can coordinate to take together, or take alone. All material will be posted each Monday by 8 a.m. EST except the Kahoot Quiz which will be posted each Friday by 8 a.m.
Students should post their completed crafts to the classroom for teacher and other students to view.  Comments, questions and reflections are shared to the classroom or in a private message to the teacher. The teacher checks in the classroom regularly and will respond in a timely manner. The weekly schedule is as follows:

Week One:
Students will learn about one of the oldest forms of transportation, the boat! Teacher will share a lesson video, a step by step boat craft video, an interactive Nearpod link, printable boat activities, and a Kahoot quiz.

Week Two:
Students will learn about how in some parts of the world, many people use animals to get around from place to place.Teacher will share a lesson video, a step by step animal transportation craft video, an interactive Nearpod link, printable activities, and a Kahoot quiz.

Week Three:
Students will learn about urban transportation such as buses, taxis, subways, cars, and street cars. Teacher will share a lesson video, a step by step urban transportation craft video, an interactive Nearpod link, printable boat activities, and a Kahoot quiz.

Week Four:
Students will learn about a popular way to reach far destinations...flying! Teacher will share a lesson video, a step by step airplane craft video, an interactive Nearpod link, printable airplane activities, and a Kahoot quiz.

Students will improve their understanding of various modes of human transportation in the world and engage their fine motor skills creating a weekly craft.

Parental Guidance
Adult assistance may be needed for various aspects of the weekly crafts including the use of scissors.
Supply List
Students will need the following supplies for the weekly crafts:

Week One:
Printable from Classroom
Paper plate cut in half
Blue paint
Any other color paint
Straw, Popsicle stick, coffee stirrer, or pipe cleaner (whichever you have)
Crayons, any colors that child chooses
Glue
Tape

Week Two:
Printable from classroom 
One large paper plate
Grey paint (you can make grey by mixing black and white if you do not have grey paint)
Paintbrush
Scissors
Glue
Grey crayon

Week Three:
One Large paper plate cut in half
Printable from classroom 
Glue
Scissors
One piece of colored paper (child’s choice)
Crayons

Week Four:
Printable from classroom 
Blue construction paper
4 cotton balls
Glue
Scissors
Watercolor paints with brush
