We will then learn about the child and their life and discuss significant accomplishments and influence. We will then examine that child speaking and/or, as appropriate, read from some of their writing. Students will each be encouraged to read aloud and, as we read, I will introduce the students to skills that can help them build confidence, expressiveness, and communicate with authenticity, skill, and ease. Classes will be highly interactive, for example, students reading, observing speakers by listening to each other, and watching video recordings of kids speaking. Students will also be involved in discussions and debate and, be invited to comment constructively and sensitively on each other's work.
