Students will learn through interactive musical activities including singing, dancing, clapping, and more! Visual pictures and storytelling are included to exemplify and encourage participation and appropriate social skills. Class structure may vary depending on the students, but will likely include: 1. Hello Song: Students will say hello to teacher and peers. 2. Introductions: Students will practice introducing themselves with: "My name is _____." 3. Call-and-response vocal activities: students will practice simple vocalizations after the teacher to songs like "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" or other preferred music. 4. Movement activities: Students will follow instructions and imitate movements of the teacher by stretching, jumping clapping, and more to music. 5. Goodbye Song: Students will say goodbye to teacher and peers. These activities will vary from week to week, and are individualized based on the learners in the class. I always welcome parents/students to let me know their song preferences beforehand; I will try to include preferred music as much as possible!

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a board-certified music therapist, I have a wealth of experience in working with children who have special needs. I have worked with individuals who are both nonverbal and verbal in both one-on-one and group settings. Through the power of music, I have seen children shift from nonverbal to verbal in a matter of minutes. I look forward to meeting your precious child and please feel free to message me with any information that you would like me to know about your particular child's needs prior to class.
