The Teen Nature Journal Club encourages participants to journal nature on a weekly basis and make it part of their life! Connect, Share, Learn & Be Inspired Students will have the opportunity to be fully engaged through short lessons, PowerPoint slides, learning, sharing and inspiration! Weekly nature journal assignments will be given and asked to be shared in class. Confidence in journaling will grow as students delight in the exploration of nature, journaling, sharing and being inspired! Often the class is has participants in it from all over the world so you can learn about all sorts of nature as you share your journals with new friends in the club.We will follow the wonder and nature interests in the club so each club will be different depending on who is in class! You can take the club again and again! Each Club will include: Icebreaker-We will start off each club with a nature ice-breaker to help teens connect with each other and nature. Sharing-Sharing in the nature journal club is encouraged each week. (this is optional but will really help the journaler grow) Tips or Inspirations-Students will be given various tips or inspirations on nature journaling each week. Journal Challenge- Participants will then be given a journal challenge for the week. Students are encouraged to journal nature they love between club meetings and be ready to share on screen in the classroom.

Nature Journaling is packed full of great stuff! Sometimes with the lead of just enjoying nature kids don't realize that they are getting better in all sorts of areas. ( writing, observation, critical thinking, public speaking/sharing, connection, analogy, expression, scientific thinking, art ( not the main goal but practicing the skill makes them better at art!)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I taught art at a private school for a number of years and teach in-person nature journal classes as well as on Outschool. I am passionate about nature and watching kids come alive with "wonder"!
