Class Experience

Get ready for a unique weekly adventure in the pixelated world of Minecraft! We’ll explore, build, and bond in my own secure, private world. This isn’t just about crafting and mining; it’s about creating a sense of community and camaraderie among everyone involved.

In this Minecraft experience, I'll take on the role of a guide rather than a traditional teacher. My focus is on letting everyone’s creativity and individuality shine while maintaining a safe and age-appropriate environment. We’ll practice good gaming etiquette together to ensure a respectful space where griefing isn’t allowed. By embracing positive gaming practices, everyone will gain confidence and respect for others as we navigate the virtual world.

From building towering castles to creating horse stables, Minecraft offers endless possibilities. But it’s not just about the big projects; it’s also about the small moments. Decorating your virtual home, hosting parties, or exploring the vast landscape with friends—all these experiences add to the magic of the game.

And let's not forget the thrill of adventure! Whether we're braving the depths of a cavern or embarking on a daring quest, there's always something new and exciting to discover in the world of Minecraft.

Join us for a journey like no other, where friendship, creativity, and endless possibilities await. Just remember, in our world, the only limit is your imagination!

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Christine, but in 2021, many of my learners started calling me by the nickname Ms. Wish after my gamer handle. I love it and it stuck!

I am a former private school classroom teacher and current homeschooling mom. I have taught students from infants to senior citizens in various subjects, though I have a special affinity for video gaming, music, math, theater, and language.

On Outschool, I teach mostly social gaming clubs as I have found a need for learners to socialize while playing their favorite online games in a safe and supervised environment. In these classes, students build important social skills needed to have fun and stay safe in an online gaming environment. I am a strong believer that much learning happens through play! Like Maria Montessori said "play is the work of the child." These days much play happens in the virtual world, and as a lifelong gamer I choose to embrace it!

I have had a passion for teaching since I was in 3rd Grade and was selected for a program that allowed a few students to tutor 1st-grade students in reading and math. Since then, I have worked as a teacher/tutor my entire adult life. I have a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies with a concentration in music and have received training in the Kodaly Method of teaching music to young learners. My instrument of choice is my voice.

I have a gentle and playful teaching style built on mutual respect. My favorite quote is from Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, "Careful the things you say. Children will listen. Careful the things you do. Children will see and learn."

When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking and rediscovering the wonders of nature with my son.

I am looking forward to seeing your learner in class!
