Class Experience

Halloween is a fun time of the year for many teens but this year is going to be different for many of us, this virtual Halloween party gives teens a safe place to have fun and show off their costumes!

We will come in costume and you are welcome to bring a Halloween treat to enjoy during class. I will give each person a chance to tell us about their costume and why they chose it. We will play Halloween would you rather, Halloween mad-libs and two spooky trueths and a lie (tell us 3 things you are afraid of and we will guess which is the lie).
This is an inclusive class, meaning students of all abilities are welcome, if your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible experience.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Gabrielle, I started teaching sewing lessons when I was a homeschool senior. I taught classes at a local home school group and discovered I had a passion for teaching. When I was 19 I discovered I was most likely autistic and was able to get an official diagnosis at 21. For me, this was a revelation and explained so much. It meant I was able to seek out others like me and was a huge game-changer for me.

For over 10 years now I have been teaching in different capacities and working with children with different disabilities and differences. I have been an in-home caregiver for a physically disabled child, a preschool teacher, a teacher's aid, a tutor and have been teaching online since January 2020. I also have an Associates' degree in special education.

I am proud to be autistic. This doesn't mean I don't have struggles but I firmly believe that we all have strengths and weaknesses. I strive to give all of my students a safe and welcoming place. All of my classes are inclusive which means students of all abilities are welcome. If your student needs any accommodations please let me know and we will work together to ensure the best possible class experience.
