Do you drive your friends crazy with your questions? This class is perfect for curious learners who love to talk and discuss all kinds of topics. We will also discuss general philosophical questions: How do you know the universe is real? Is stealing always wrong? What is absolute truth? Should we always tell the truth? When is it ok to lie? What does happiness feel like? We will discuss but not judge. Learners will ponder and think deeply about compelling questions. Learners will stretch their brain with all kinds of questions. We will watch the video in class and discuss a various topics.

SWBAT: Develop listening skills as students share ideas, information and opinions.

Ted Talks lead to thoughtful discussions between adults so why can't kids discuss what's important to them. Let's all think critically, listen to different viewpoints and have fun in the process. Kids ideas and opinions matter and we will discuss them here! I've been trained in socratic teaching style and have been fortunate enough to lead this type of group in the past with homeschoolers with rave results. Training: Great Books Learning Modalities, Ambleside Teacher training, Teaching Certificate Grades 1-8 (Alverno College) and 15 years of practical experience.
