In this course, students will learn about all different types of energy production--clean and otherwise--from an actual nuclear engineer! Each week we will talk about a different energy production method and talk about how it works, the life cycle of the fuel, byproducts produced, and overall environmental effects of the particular energy production method. This class will be designed to be a mixture of lecture and discussion. The teacher will provide information regarding the energy production of that week, and the students will be encouraged to participate by discussing the pros and cons of the production type, such as environmental effects, costs, etc. to start thinking about electricity and the environment in a new way. Each week, we will talk about a different production method. The current plan for the class is as follows.
