Teacher Tammi’s Tutoring

If your learner would benefit from some practical skills and strategies for navigating time management, planning, organizing, and completing tasks, or would benefit from extra practice in phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and/or fluency practice, then you have landed on the right page. 

I offer 1:1 Student Success Coaching, tutoring in the Science of Reading, and English as a Second or Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) using evidence-based approaches. My teaching philosophy is aligned with a cognitive constructivist approach to learning, and I believe every learner is capable of acquiring knowledge and building upon it commensurate with individual abilities. 

Students with varying exceptionalities or who are at a beginner English proficiency level (ELLs) should not be hesitant to enroll because I will incorporate as much scaffolding and modeling into my instruction as needed to ensure learner comfortability. I am sensitive to the many cultural and social influences that affect learning and motivation. I believe establishing a good rapport between learners, parents, and teachers is integral to the learning process, which is why the first booked session will be an introductory session designed to build rapport, assess current level of abilities, and discuss desired tutoring and learning outcomes. Coaching and tutoring sessions are provided in a relaxed, but structured learning environment that is free from outside distractions.
