This unique course is a celebration of literary genres, using the timeless melodies of Taylor Swift as our guide! We'll explore how Taylor's music embodies a variety of literary genres and inspirations throughout her different eras. This course is a welcoming space for all—whether you're a devoted Swiftie or just stepping into her world, you're invited to join the fun! First, we will learn about literary genres and their structure. Our journey will take us through the enchanting realms of Fantasy, the gripping allure of Mystery, the rich tapestry of Folklore, the compelling narratives of Drama, the vivid portrayals of realistic fiction, and the captivating lives depicted in biographies. This exploration will allow learners to understand how different literary genres evoke varied moods and perspectives, thus enriching our experiences of literature. Following this exploration, we'll wrap up the class with an entertaining trivia quiz to test each students' knowledge of all things Taylor Swift. My teaching style encourages open conversation to create a lively atmosphere in class where we can openly discuss topics, including our mutual love for Taylor Swift. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and participation is always encouraged, but never mandatory!
