Tailored Tutoring for Reading Intervention

Private class specially designed to give learners opportunities to develop their reading and language arts skills in a warm, nurturing environment taught by an experienced ESL and Title 1 intervention tutor.  The first few minutes of class will give the learner and teacher opportunity to introduce themselves and create a friendly learning environment.  Next, the teacher will complete a brief informal assessment to enable her to select a story on the appropriate reading level for the learner. The story will be selected from the RAZkids library based the Fountas and Pinnel leveled reading program.  Vocabulary develpment, phonic skills and comprehensions skills will be the focus of this class. This class can be booked on a continuing Tailored Tutoring multiday class will be explained and parents can decide whether this program will meet the needs of their learner. Parents may have specific skills they want addressed with their learner in the multiday class in addition to the skills the teacher feels the learner needs extra practice in.
