Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 9
Intermediate Level
This course introduces students to how to solve systems of linear equations. Topics include a definition of the system of equations and how to use various methods such as the table method, graphing, substitution, and elimination to find the solution for systems of equations. The student will also learn how to apply these methods in solving real world applications.

The course consists of seven lessons that build on previous lessons. Each lesson includes a video tutorial to explain the concepts and demonstrate the skill the student will learn in the lesson. Practice exercises along with solutions and explanations are also provided in each lesson.

Students often struggle with fundamental concepts such as solving two-step and multi-step equations. This course begins with an in-depth review of these skills to encourage student success.

Lesson 1:
Introduction to the Course
Welcome to the course! In lesson 1, you will complete prerequisite work to ensure you are ready to begin working with systems of equations. In the second part of this lesson, you will learn the three solutions that are the core concept of systems of linear equation. An explanation of when to expect two solutions to have one solution, no solution, or infinite solutions will be explained.

33 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Check solutions of systems of linear equations (Table Method)
In this lesson, you will learn how to tell whether the ordered pair is a solution of the system of linear equations.
1 assignment
28 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
Solve systems of linear equations by graphing
In this lesson, you will learn how to find the solution of two equations using graphing.
