In this 50 minute class, we will take a look at the life of several people who helped shaped The United States. The first 30-40 minutes of the class will consist of a powerpoint presentation that will include a detailed look at Sybil Ludington and her famous ride, Deborah Sampson and her contributions in active combat, President Andrew Jackson and how he was held hostage after a battle, and many others. The powerpoint presentation will contain some short videos that will help with the discussion. The last 10-15 minutes of class will be an open discussion of what we have learned and answer any questions that the students may have.
