Sentences are really simple things. They have a subject and predicate, and they express a complete thought. That’s the basic sentence, but there is much more to understanding and writing one. A student needs to understand how words and phrases are used to enhance the meaning and clarity of a sentence. In this class, students will learn how to write super sentences through word games, cut and paste activities, watching videos, and of course writing their own sentences.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to write a well-crafted expanded sentence.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
I will share the Youtube video "Prepositions" by the Bazillions. I will share the Youtube video Brainpop Jr. "4 Types of Sentences"
Pre-Requisites
Students should know what a noun, verb, and adjective are.
Supply List
Handouts will be provided by me. I will upload the needed handouts at least 3 days before our class begins. I find this to be easier than uploading all of them at one time.
Students will need to bring these handouts, a spiral notebook, composition book, or folder, a pair of dice, crayons or colored pencils, scissors, and glue to each session. If they would like to decorate the cover of their notebook to make it personal, they can do this at home before the course begins. Please make sure your child comes to class on time and is prepared each week with all supplies and homework. Please check the classroom posts the night before class for any new messages. Thank you.
