This ongoing social class fosters connection and creative thinking. We share stories from our lives found in various formats (audio, TV, movie, podcasts, dinner table, etc.) before playing a game that encourages creative thinking, storytelling, and/or collaboration. As an instructor, I have 15+ years of professional experience working with stories and writers as an editor, writer, and librarian. We welcome neurodivergent learners. Using the chat is possible for most games but not always. Learners should be comfortable with their video on more than off and be able to speak loud enough to be heard.
To enjoy the games learners should be able to read and write basic English (2nd grade level), speak out loud as necessary for the game (sometimes chat works fine!), and be comfortable keeping their camera on for most of class time.
