Class Experience

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail” - Benjamin Franklin

I believe everyone is capable of being successful in any math class they take. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of confidence-building and practice to get there! Throughout my 15 years of teaching high school math, many discussions have been had about what students should know coming into an Algebra I course. In almost every conversation I have with other Algebra I teachers, confidence is identified as one of the most important skills to have coming in. Aside from confidence, there are a handful of other essential skills that I’ve identified as being crucial for Algebra I success. Together we’ll tackle all of it in this course so that you can head into the 2022-23 school year feeling ready and confident.

This course features live lessons, live question and answer (Q&A) sessions, ongoing opportunities to check for understanding, and graded summative assessments. As a result, you will be able to see how you are progressing through the material so that you can better understand your strengths and weaknesses.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My goal is to translate the often misunderstood subject of mathematics through visuals and different but proven methods that I have gained over my 15 years of experience as a high school teacher. These concepts will range from 7th and 8th grade math all of the way to Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry. I am a licensed Middle and High School teacher, have my Masters in Education, and have taught a plethora of classes in my 15 years of teaching (Math 7, Math 8, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Applied Math, General Math, Business Math, Pre-Calculus w/ Trig, College Algebra). I believe that everyone is born with the ability to master mathematics, it is just somewhere along the path, there has been a mental road block that has slowed down this trajectory. That is why I teach! To find and fix your thought process and get you back to feeling confident and proud of your inner math talent. The best aspect of this journey is that I will be doing all of my lessons traveling around the country in a RV, chasing down my own path and dream. I cannot wait for you to learn where I will be next (and maybe some math will be discussed :))
