Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Truth can be stranger than fiction! In this class, students can expect to hear some very strange but true nature stories. Some of the subjects we will touch on include parasitism, reanimation, regeneration, and slime! We will explore how and why these bizarre and gruesome abilities or traits allow organisms to defend themselves, reproduce, feed themselves, or complete their lifecycles. Students will gain knowledge of scientific concepts and vocabulary while getting grossed out!
I am a patient and easy-going teacher, and participation is encouraged!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about animal behaviors, adaptations, life cycles, and parasitism. Students will learn related scientific vocabulary as we go.

Minnesota Teaching Certificate in English/Language Arts
Hello! Thank you for stopping by! I love students of all ages and I love teaching a variety of topics. Some of my favorite classes to teach are reading, nature, and science. I try to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere so learners feel comfortable in participating. I want students to have fun while learning!

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, a Minnesota teaching license, and a 160 hour TEFL certification.

I have been teaching and guiding children since 2000 as a preschool/childcare provider, an ELA teacher in public school classrooms, and an ESL teacher in online classrooms.

I love teaching, but I also love being a student! I take as many classes as possible on whatever subject piques my interest. Teaching and learning are my life!

When my three daughters are home from college we love going for hikes, cooking together, and of course, snuggling our two funny cats, Pumpkin and Marigold.

I hope to see your learner in class!
