I love to read and am passionate about teaching reading, especially to struggling readers. I have spent the last 18 years working as a reading specialist with students in grades 3-5. Throughout my career, I have taught students with diverse reading needs. I use current best practices in my teaching, such as structured literacy, to help my students become confident readers. I am experienced in using assessments to drive my instruction in my classroom. I offer one-on-one tutoring classes in reading. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Shippensburg University, in Pennsylvania. I hold a Bachelor's in Elementary Education, a Master's in Education, and a Reading Specialist certificate.
