US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
For this four day long 50-minute a day class, we will work on whatever your rising 2nd-7th grade student struggled on in math this past year. This 1:1 time can be used to review past topics that your student struggled with or to pre-teach difficult concepts from the coming school year. Please let me know in advance what topic(s) you would like me to cover asthis is a student/parent directed class. I am currently a 4th grade teacher at a brick-and-mortar school in North Carolina, and I have over 11 years of experience teaching in various upper elementary and middle school settings. I have also been tutoring online for over 6 years. My teaching and tutoring style is supportive and encouraging. When possible, I utilize a multi-sensory approach to math so students deeply understand the content and not just come to an answer without understanding the "why". When possible, I use drawings, online manipulatives, and word problems to help students gain a deeper understanding of the content.
Learning Goals
Students will learn confidence in their math skills through a supportive environment. This tutoring session is parent/student directed so student outcomes will be up to the student/parent.

Hello, I’m Teacher Trevor and I’m super excited to meet your child on Outschool. I have taught in an upper elementary setting for over eleven years now and tutored online for over six. In addition to my degree in elementary education, I have endorsements in teaching reading and teaching English as a second language. As a dad of three boys myself, I understand the unique abilities and learning styles that students bring to the classroom and strive to meet the individual needs of my students. I believe in setting high expectations for student learning, but using multi-sensory and real-world application to help all students achieve understanding. I enjoy connecting with students through humor and common interests. Some of my hobbies include reading a good book, violin, and anything outdoor related. I am super excited to get to teach your child on Outschool.
