In this Summer Camp, students will be pretend to pirates for a week, “Yarrr!” These little pirates will learn will create self-portrait, treasure map and a salt clay pet fish. Day one, students will create their own salt clay and sculpt into a fish with stand. We will learn about 2-D vs 3-D artwork. Day two students will create a silly pirate self-portrait of themselves, discussing facial features and portrait vocabulary. Day three, creating an authentic treasure map, using coloring techniques. On day four, students will finish painting their clay sculpture fish, learning how to paint with Acrylic paints. Students will have fun learning how to use Acrylic paints, portrait techniques, different types of lines, building with their hands and meeting little minded pirates.

Students will be able to create using salt clay.

Supply List
2 White paper (computer paper is great, 60lbs) Pencil Thicker Markers or crayons Black sharpie or Black marker 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 1/2 water Acrylic paints (primary colors - red, yellow and brushes (medium brush)
