This class is taught in English.

By the end of our class, students will have a new or improved knowledge of different types of dance steps used in traditional musical theater and jazz choreography, as well as how to piece together different portions of a combination. Each day we will see the combinations become a bit more challenging, allowing students to put what the basic steps they've learned into practice and challenge themselves to go further than their expectations. They will also have the opportunity to develop relationships with other students from all over the world. They might also learn a new song!

As a professional musical theatre performer, I have had the pleasure of using my dance training to explore how we tell stories in musical theatre with our bodies. I believe that using our shared language of dance and applying character to the songs we learn is a great way to both keep students active and discover new ways to be creative. This particular class is exciting because we will explore songs that students might hear every day and learn how we can translate the story of the song into our movement. I'm so eager to bring this particular class option to students as it keeps our students active during these difficult times, and offers an opportunity to develop relationships with students from all over the world. They also get to perform in their own living rooms!
