Join Isa the cat on an exciting trip to France this summer! In this camp that runs for one week, learners will discover the culture of France with Isa (my amazing cat that walks on a leash and has been travelling to different countries!). In this virtual trip, we will explore the landmarks, food and culture of France. The camp will consist of 5 consecutive days of virtual travel. Day 1: Isa packs her luggage and boards the plane to France! (packing clothes and essentials, going through the airport such as check-in, boarding and flight experience, landing in France: asking for directions and means of transportation from airport to the city) Day 2: Isa visits the cafes, famous landmarks and explores fashion in Paris. (how to order at the cafes: polite expressions and requests, visiting the Eiffel Tower, Le Louvre Museum, the gardens, taking a trip down Champs-Élysées to explore the fashion of the city) Day 3: Isa visits the Côte d'Azur to go to the beach. (visit the beach in Nice: learn vocabulary associated with the beach experience, attends the film festival in Cannes) Day 4: Isa tastes the best food in the world in Lyon. (explore different dishes, pastries, and cheese that are popular in France and particularly the capital gastronomic city of the world: Lyon, food tour around the old city of Lyon to visit the famous ‘Bouchon’ restaurants, and explore the fruit and vegetable markets) Day 5: Isa visits the famous castles of France. (discover mediaeval castles, where they are located and learn about the life of kings and queens a long time ago in France) Throughout each day of ‘travel’, learners will engage in a slide-show presentation where they will learn about vocabulary of food, culture, landmarks around France. Learners will have fun with a Virtual Reality Field Trip of places discussed in each class through the Nearpod platform! We will participate in activities such as matching pairs to reinforce our learning. Learners will be provided with a handout, “My Favourite Moment”, where they will write their favourite part of the trip for each day of class during our camp. Each section of the handout can be completed after the classes are finished. Please feel free to send me learner work for feedback throughout the week!
