Who LOVES soft, yummy, sweet sugar cookies from the grocery store? What's better than a sugar cookie cake pop?!? Nothing! Join me to make a delightful cake pop that can be recreated in your very own kitchen anytime you need a sweet treat! In this class, we will touch on kitchen safety as well as how to use a microwave safely. Students will learn simple kitchen safety skills as well as how to use a microwave safely. Students will also learn to make a yummy dessert that they can make over and over again.
From the store: 1 package almond bark or candy coating for dipping 1 package of already baked soft bakery sugar cookies like Lofthouse Cookies or something similar 1 package cream cheese Sprinkles Wax paper White treat sticks You will also need: Microwave safe mug of glass for heating Spoon for stirring Mixer (hand held or stand alone) Microwave safe plate for softening cream cheese Cookie sheet for drying cake pops * You may need vegetable shortening, vegetable oil, coconut oil or olive oil. All chocolate heats differently and if your chocolate is thick...you may need to thin it with oil.
Children should be supervised while using a microwave and heating chocolate to make sure they are safe and do not get burned. Parents should be aware that many sugar cookies contain milk, eggs, wheat and soy. Cream cheese contains dairy and almond bark contains milk and soy and may contain traces of nuts. Please check the label of the cookies, almond bark and cream cheese that you buy to check for ingredients that may be harmful to your child.
