Who doesn't love stuffed animals? So why not show off our favorite cuddly teddy bear, worn and ragged puppy dog, or green and goofy frog? In this one-time class, boys and girls will enjoy a special circle time with their lovable stuffed animals. Each learner will have the opportunity to introduce his/her stuffed animal (e.g. color, size, age and name) and tell the group what makes this stuffed animal special. To close out the session, Doodle, the puppet, will read an original poem about how very special stuffed animals are.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello everyone. I am Teacher Mary G. and I am so happy to be teaching with Outschool. I am the mother of four and grandmother of three. As a middle school teacher, I have taught all subjects, but language arts is my specialty.
Classes will include grammar lessons (punctuation, capitalization, parts of speech) and sentence and paragraph writing. Novel reading and discussion would also be an offering to students. As an elementary/middle school teacher, I taught math and science. I would love to
instruct students in these subjects as well. In addition to academic lessons, I will be teaching value lessons (i.e. honesty, cooperation, kindness), and life skill lessons (i.e. stress and anger management, problem-solving, and confidence building).
My education includes a bachelor of science in education, an elementary endorsement, and a master of science in education, (school counseling Prek-12th grades). For 14 years, I taught fifth and sixth grades. The last four years before retiring, I served as the fifth and sixth grades' school counselor.
Every student is unique. Every student can succeed. Every student can learn given the time and the necessary tools. Fostering a positive environment of encouragement and expression of thought, allows students to learn from their mistakes and grow in their achievements.
As a teacher, I cherished the time with my students and I often told them at the end of the school year, "I'm going to miss you." And I did. But I think they missed me too because so many of my "kids" came back to visit and tell me how "hard" school was and they wanted to return to my class. That feeling was fleeting. Each student adjusted to their new grade, new classmates, new teacher(s). They grew up, but they never stopped coming back (facebook, email, texts, etc.). And I still miss them.
