Class Experience

It’s time to have fun for St. Patrick’s Day! In this one-day camp, students will learn the history of St. Patrick’s Day like never before by building festive structures inside of Minecraft. Would you like to build a leprechaun’s house and search for his gold? Or build a glowing rainbow or rainbow beacon? Use your imagination to create festive structures to enjoy this festive Irish tradition. (For this class, students will need to purchase the Java Edition of Minecraft on their own computers).

In addition to providing a fun experience students will learn how to:

 - Use a variety of blocks to create various shapes and structures
 - Decorate the interiors of buildings
 - Collaborate with classmates to design structures and negotiate ideas
 - Execute their creative ideas through building their own personalized structures
 - Use technology to accomplish goals
 - Develop negotiating skills when conflict arises in a group setting and engage in teamwork
 - Terraform their surroundings to match the holiday.
