Beginner Level
In this ongoing class, we will read fun stories together. Students may have their own copy of the book or may follow along with me in my book. Each week we will read a new story following monthly seasonal themes or author focus. Please know that your child can join at any time, this is a very flexible class and students will be able to participate any time they join. Students will enjoy songs, stories, games, and simple crafts using supplies that most of us keep around the house. Supplies, if needed, will be listed in each class description. This will be an interactive class with students participating in discussions about the book and joining in activities after the story. Learning Goals
Students will strengthen reading and listening skills and communications skills. Reading skills will be practiced through listening to the story, following along, and comprehension questions and discussion. Communication skills such as waiting your turn to speak and paying attention while someone else is speaking will be strengthened through discussion, answering questions and activities such as crafts and show & tell. Students will also learn the parts of a book and how to take care of a book.

Parental Guidance
There are no sensitive topics covered in this class or subscriptions required. Students will occasionally need to use scissors. Parental help and/or guidance is recommended when using scissors.
Supply List
construction paper (multiple colors), white paper, glue stick, glue bottle, crayons, scissors, occasionally recyclables such as egg cartons, milk jugs, paper towel or toilet paper tubes
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
