Five exciting stories, five memorable characters on adventures in nature: Children will reap the benefits of the read-aloud experience, be inspired to discover new books on their own, and engage with classmates and critical-thinking activities in this live, relaxed, story time class. After experiencing the story, students will engage in lively discussion regarding their impressions of the story. They will have the opportunity to practice their 'public speaking' as they relate the story to their own experiences as well as other stories they have read or heard. Using our packet, students will continue to engage with the story and other subjects through age-appropriate activities and games! We will discuss at least one literary device and how it is presented in the book. Finally, students will have the opportunity to do a simple drawing activity as it pertains to an element of the story. Teacher expertise and credentials
I especially enjoy teaching English and literature, school readiness skills, geography, science, history, cooking and culinary skills! My education is in Elementary and Middle School Education, and I hold a Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology with a graduate minor in Statistics. I have 20+ years of teaching experience including Private Elementary, State University, online teaching (ESL, core education, and enrichment courses), and homeschooling my own son for eleven years. I believe every child has the ability to learn whatever desired, and all learning should be shrouded in JOY; my classroom is a place where serious learning and fun collide! I live in a beautiful valley surrounded by the mountains of Idaho where we have more deer than people. : )
