Welcome to story time and sign language for beginners! We will be reading the story Little Blue Truck written by Alice Schertle. I will begin class by teaching the children how to introduce themselves in sign language and they will each learn how to spell their names individually in ASL. Next we will begin our exciting and interactive story time! After reading the story the children will learn the signs for: blue, truck, cow, horse, sheep, duck, chicken, pig, goat, toad, stuck, and help....
I have been fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) for 10 years and have studied the language for 16 years. I have my double certificate in ASL from International Open Academy and am heavily involved in the Deaf community in my area. I love children, ASL, and reading! I am excited to expand my knowledge to your children through this exciting one-time class!
