Class Experience

This one time course will teach students how to incorporate vocabulary words into their written work or conversations with me, friends and love ones.

During class, students will view storyboards, slide presentations, classroom discussions, while incorporating their newly learned vocabulary words, into their stories 

Students are then prompted with teachers guidance to help incorporate those new vocabulary words into their written work. Produci rich conversations with me, their classmates, family and friends.

This class does not require any past knowledge.  Parental supervision is not required.  During this course, I will also discuss with students about the importance of how to stimulate their 5 Senses, for their learning growth process.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their written and verbal communication skills by incorporating their vocabulary words, when conversing with me, classmates, family and friends. Story Telling Time is a brilliant activity for enhancing rich conversations.

My name is Jennifer. I live in the mountains of PA, here in the great USA.  My husband and our three sons, who I home school, are thankful to be a part of Outschool.  I have been an Online English teacher since 2017 to learners from ages 3 and all the way up to Adults. My interactive physical classroom is located in my home office as well as outdoors in my woodsy backyard. Hopefully, students will get a chance to see some of the wildlife that live here in PA, during our Zoom class meetings.  As a learner, I am a visual learner, therefore, I am a visual teacher.  Story Telling Time on the Zoom platform is a fantastic way to introduce new vocabulary words to young learners. This value is incorporated into their lesson. Their 5 senses are stimulated through the use of props, read out loud, song and dance, video clips, photos, written slide presentations and virtual field trips in my mountainous neighborhood, here in Pennsylvania.  Occasionally, students will see black bears, turtles, deer's and my pet dog ASAP.  While learning new vocabulary words, these visual experiences, will serve as a remembrance for students during family and friendly conversations. My 17 years of Brick and Mortar NYS certified English teacher with an additional certification in teaching children with special needs, have trained me with the knowledge that communicating with others, relies for the understanding of each other.  Therefore, it will be my pleasure to guide my students on their journey of language development in "Their"  Story Telling Time classroom.  I also look forward to learning new vocabulary words from my students.
