If you'd like me to review your learner's picture that they draw at the end of class, I will happily take a look at it and let you know what I think! This class does not have a formal assessment, and is meant to be taken with adult supervision to ensure engagement and fun!Class Experience
In this act-along story time, we will go fishing, climb mountains, sail across the sea and more as we adventure alongside the Runaway Bunny and their mother. Learners will be able to access the whole class on their own with Ms. Julie acting as the mommy bunny and the learner acting as the baby bunny. If you'd like to make this into a "Grown-up and Me" class, the story will lend itself well to that format, too! If grown-ups want to join, they can act the part of the mommy bunny while the learner pretends to be the little bunny. We will begin with a hello song and a full-body warm-up to prepare to play our characters. After a fun play-along song to get into our "bunny bodies," we'll dive into the story of The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown. We will alternate looking at pictures/reading and acting out the scenes together. Make sure you bring some drawing supplies (makers, crayons, or pencils, and a piece of paper), because at the end of class, we will draw a picture to add to the book of The Runaway Bunny following the question: What else could the little bunny have become when it was running away? Studies show that acting and theatrical experiences help children to gain empathy, grow decision-making muscles, and even increase literacy! Whether you came across this class because your learner loves to act or this is your learner's introduction to the acting world, they will love acting along with this classic and touching tale about the connection between a guardian and their child. To limit background noise and distraction, students will be muted for some parts of class. If your child is unable to reliably unmute their microphone, please stay close by so that you can assist! I am happy to offer free mute button lessons outside of class time, and will help children develop this skill along with other technological literacy as our classes together go forward. ***Important Disclaimer*** I am currently unable to legally offer classes students who live in or are citizens of Canada. If you or your learner are Canadian, please do not sign up for this class. Check back with me in a few months, at which point I'll hopefully be able to welcome you into my classes! Thanks for your understanding.
