Class Experience

The goal of this one-time class is to STOP! "Hunting & Pecking". And to type like the cool hackers/coders in movies and TV shows. Students will learn how to type through touch, touch-typing.
Mr. Hun (coding instructor) has over three years of experience teaching coding (Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, HTML, CSS) and computer science (AP Computer Science A, AP Computer Science Principles, ACSL) to young coders (7 to 17 y.o.).
Mr. Hun started teaching CFK (Coding For Kids) in 2019.
Mr. Hun has been teaching online since 2020. And in 2022 started teaching CFK on Outschool.
Mr. Hun has a BA from Hunter College, CUNY. With a major in computer science and a minor in math.
Mr. Hun has ten years of IT experience, working as an IT consultant, on Wall Street.
Mr. Hun currently teaches CFK (Coding For Kids) for a local tutoring center (since 2019). Where he was the ACSL coach for the 2021-2022 season. With three students going to the ACSL 2021-2022 finals.
Also, Mr. Hun teaches a small number of his own private students (Python Fu Masters).
Mr. Hun has been a member of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) since 2019.
A PDF worksheet is provided for the learner to practice touch-typing on their own after class.
This one-time class requires a physical (QWERTY) keyboard to practice typing. Either wired or wireless. A virtual keyboard is NOT sufficient for this typing class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Warning! Mr. Hun grew up in NYC, NY. From the age of 5 to 45. Now lives on the west coast. NYC culture is characterized by sarcasm. Which (sadly) does NOT exist outside of the NE. Mr. Hun does his utmost best to keep his sarcasm under control. And be professional at all times. But sometimes his NYC culture peeks through once in a while. So, if you and/or your learner are offended by sarcasm or jokes. Please, do NOT register for any of Mr. Hun's classes. Thank you (said without any sarcasm whatsoever).
