In this 5 week Flex lesson participants will learn many basic investing concepts. Students will be given 100K Virtual money to invest in real time trading.

** THIS IS A FLEX CLASS AND DOES NOT HAVE LIVE MEETINGS***

In this Flex lesson students will learn the fundamentals of the stock market.   Identify the different types of stock classifications. Interpret stock listing information and where to find the information. Evaluate stock investment options and describe how stocks are bought and sold through brokers and online formats.  Student will understand how the laws of supply and demand guide the stock market.  This lesson will better prepare the students for the next class, Investing in the Stock Market Game.  Learners will enjoy researching stocks in real time trading prices, making predictions and following stock prices.   
I will engage students in a classroom discussion question weekly. I will discuss the questions in the classroom. Students are expected to join the discussion by answering the question(s) and replying to, at least (1) person in the classroom, me or another student.

My class is structured to be a stress free, fun, and interactive learning environment to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.  

How will you teach?
I will teach using slide presentation, interactive games and discussion for question and answer sessions.

What's your teaching style?
I believe that every child learns differently.  I do my best to accommodate individual learning styles.  

How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? 
I  teach with lecture format, visual aids and hands on activity. Students will have the opportunity to interact and discuss with other classmates with answering the weekly discussion.  I will engage students in a classroom discussion question weekly. I will discuss the questions in the classroom. I will be available for questions and feedback through the classroom and direct messages.

No prior knowledge is needed.
Learning Goals
The learning goal of the students is to develop a fundamental basics of the stock market, what causes the stock market to go up and down, how to use statistical data pertaining to each stock, why it is important to diversify your investment portfolio, and the history of the stock market.

I spent a week with extensive interaction on the NYSE trading floor.  My stock market game past participants earned 1st place in the state stock market game simulations with the highest percentage of profits competing against over 1200 teams.
