Class experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Students will discuss and experiment. Learn problem solving, STEM, reasoning skills, engineering skills, creativity, setting goals meeting objectives, and construction. A great hands on activity to observe and try to correct impacts of an oil spill in waterways. Students will engage in discussion and record their observations and ideas for corrective measures. STEM projects help reinforce important life skills and help to potentially spark a lifetime interests in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. Students will develop and reinforce counting, patterning, color identification, and reasoning skills. Encouraging the use of patterns, art, and STEM! The project also incorporates fine motor skills and discussion. Students will learn about gravity and the process of capillary action. Students observe reactions as the properties of various items mix. Students will develop theories, test their predictions, and discuss their findings as well as use an observation sheet to record and draw parts of the experiment. Students review the water cycle in the environment and discuss states of matter. STEM projects help reinforce important life skills and help to potentially spark a lifetime interests in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. Next we discuss the three states of matter as well as vocabulary: matter, mass, volume, melting, freezing, evaporation and condensation.
