Class Experience

The Epic, Steelheart, killed David Chapman's father. David wants revenge against the powerful Epic. The only problem is he will need help. Enter the Reckoners. A rebel group of people ready to do battle against the evil Steelheart and other Epics currently controlling the Earth. Will they succeed?

Join this Socratic-style class as we delve into the world of Epics and ordinary humans. This is a very engaging novel. Sanderson develops his characters through actions, conflict, and dialogue. The plot is intriguing with a surprise at the end.
During each class, we will discuss the chapters read by the learners. We will analyze the technique used by the author to bring his characters and story to life. Through discussion, the learners will analyze the dialogue, actions, setting, conflicts, themes, character development and motivation occurring throughout the story. Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a creative, enthusiastic teacher who wants all children to be successful learners through the encouragement of creative expression. I have spent the last seventeen years developing the necessary skills to achieve this goal. It is very important to me that every child learns in a fun and engaging manner.
During my career as a teacher, I have been an English department chair, technology representative, curriculum writer, and classroom teacher. In each of these roles, I have gained knowledge that I have been able to apply in my classroom.
I am particularly proud of the “Teacher of the Year” award I earned in 2011. I have always strived to be the best teacher possible. I bring creativity and innovation to my instruction. I enjoy creating lessons that inspire, motivate, and facilitate the learning of every child.
I hope to see your child in my classroom soon.
